Congrats to the Varsity Girl's Golf Team and JV Golf team: for placing 1st and 2nd last night. Highland 175, JV 196, O'Fallon 202, Alton Marquette 196. Leading the way for the Bulldogs was Ashley Wellen 39. Also scoring was Sarah Trobaugh and Emily Michael 45, and Codi Gramlich and Hayley VonderHaar 46. Scoring for the JV dogs was Casey Keller, Morgan Bargetzi, Lexi Sandifer, and Shanna Welz. Great Job Laides.
Best of luck to our cross country team: today as they travel to Triad for their first meet of the season.
Ford Drive One 4UR School: Saturday, September 11, 2010 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Highland High School Parking Lot--- Parents, the Drive One 4 UR School program was developed as a fun, engaging way to help schools raise money to support their sports and extracurricular activities. Ford and Lincoln-Mercury Dealerships (Tri-Ford) partner with their local high school to conduct a test-drive fundraising event. For every valid test-drive completed, Ford Motor Company will donate $20 to HHS football, baseball, and cheer, with a max. of $6,000! The more people who test-drive a Ford or Mercury vehicle, the more money can be raised! Test Drivers must be 18 years of age, you need a valid driver?s license at the test drive. Limit one driver per household address. The test drive takes approximately 15 minutes. There are no sales people present at the event.
TAME THE TRAIL: Help the Highland Parks & Recreation Commission design a banner to be displayed on the new multi-purpose trail.Design must be 2x4 proportional, EPS & JPEG format preferred, PDF & paper format also accepted and design must reflect the city of Highland. Winner will receive name recognition on each banner & $100.00 in chamber bucks. Also looking for a NAME for the trail. More information, come to the high school office.
ATTENTION JUNIORS & SENIORS: Sign up now for the ASVAB test in the Guidance office. The test will be given on Wednesday, September 8th (Black Day) from 8 - 11 am in the Kennel. You do not have to be interested in joining any of the branches of the military service to take this FREE test. You may take the test for the information it will provide you about your aptitudes for various careers. Sign up by September 3rd to reserve your seat.
ATTN HHS: ALL HANDS ON DECK!!! HHS is preparing to "set sail" for Homecoming 2010... when we will be Cruising the Caribbean on Saturday, Oct. 2. In order to complete our Homecoming Week itinerary, Student Council will be meeting next Tuesday, August 31 during EL in Mrs. Basden's room.. on the upper deck (room 2014). Old and new members are encouraged to attend the meeting. With the Caribbean's exotic ports, good music and food, and the open seas, Homecoming 2010 has unlimited potential. Come be a part of the party!!!!
ROWDY CROWD T-SHIRTS: Rowdy Crowd t-shirts will be on sale during lunch next week. $10.00 per shirt. Shirts will go on sale beginning on Thursday. Get your shirt for the Football home opener against Marion next Friday!
MODEL UN: Model United Nations will have a meeting on Tuesday, August 31st from 3:00-4:00 in Ms. Swank's room. Anyone interested in joining is welcome.
ATTN JUNIORS & SENIORS: Any junior or senior who is a US citizen and currently maintaining a GPA of 4.0 or above is eligible to serve as an election judge this November. Judges will be compensated up to $150 for their time. Additional information is available in the office.
ATTENTION W.Y.S.E. members: Voting for officers will take place Tuesday and Wednesday in room 211. Deadline for voting will be Wednesday at 3:15PM. See Mrs. Massey with questions.
The TECHnology Club : will be holding it's first "Call Out" meeting on Thursday, September 2nd, During EL. The Meeting will held in the Engineering Design Lab room 278 at 2:30. Please check in at your EL first and get permission to attend the TECH Club Meeting.
ATTN: Books Are Fun will be in the office until Friday, Septeber 3rd and books will be delivered on Tuesday, September 7th.
HOMECOMING PARADE COMMITTEE MEETING: The Parade Committee will meet on Wednesday, September 1 at the Korte Rec Center at 7:00 p.m. to begin preparations for the Homecoming Parade. The parade is scheduled for Wednesday, September 29. Any parent interested in helping on the committee is welcome to attend. If you?re interested in helping but are unable to attend the meeting, please let Kerri Reilson or Jody Becker know.
Sophomore Class Officers: There will be a meeting during EL on Wednesday, Sept. 1st in Mrs. Kuhlman's room. Please see Mrs. Kuhlman or Mrs. Stirewalt if you unable to attend.
Attention Madrigal Posts: There is a meeting today in the Chorus room at EL. Please see Mrs. Ruebhausen if you cannot make it for any reason.
Attention: anyone interested in auditioning for one of the four Madrigal Actors who will accompany the Acappella Choir on their Kansas City Renaissance Festival trip, please see Mrs. Ruebhausen at EL TODAY for a script and audition time.
