ATTENTION ALL ARTISTS: Show your patriotism and artistic talents by entering the VFW Patriotic Art COntest. Applications and rules are available in the office. Deadline to submit artwork is March 31. Prize money will be awarded to local entry winners. Additional prize money can be won at the district, state and national levels if your artwork advances.

Attn Seniors: You have until March 12th to order your t-shirts. Stop by the library and place your order.

CLOTHING COLLECTION: The Highland Moose Lodge will be collecting clothing for the Hoyelton Youth & Family on Saturday, March 13, 2010. They will accept clothing between 9:00am and 2:30pm at Langhauser Sheet Metal of Lee's Loan's. The Hoyelton Family Servies is a licensed and accredited not-for-profit organization offering assistance to children and families throughout the area.

FCCLA: will meet Tuesday during EL in Mrs. Jones' room to discuss the City Museum field trip and community service project. See you there!

ATTN JUNIORS: there is now a scholarship being offered to HS juniors by the Better Business Bureau. The criteria is as follows: Leadership-10%, Community Service-10%, Academic-10%, Letter of Rdference-10%, Essay-60%. Deadline is May 14, 2010. The applications are available in the guidance office by the sign-in sheet.

HHS Cheerleading Tryouts for the 2010-2011 Season: Mandatory parent & student meeting 7:00 pm at the HMS Plaza on March 15th. Tryout Schedule will be March 29 & 30, April 12, 13, 14, 15 & 19th, all from 5-8pm at the HMS Pups Pen. There will be a sign up sheet in the offices.

ATTENTION Junior Girls: The American Legion Auxiliary is looking for Junior Girls that are interested in attending the ILLINI GIRLS STATE. Girls State is to be held at EIU the week of June 13-19, 2010. "Illini Girls State is a simulation patterned after the State of Illinois; it follows Illinois governmental procedure as closely as possible. It is a practical application of Americanism and good citizenship which attempts to teach and inculcate in our youth a love of America and a sense of individual obligation to community, state, and nation. It is a powerful, intense learning experience." If you would like to be considered as an attendee at this conference please see Trina in the HHS office by March 25, 2010.

ATTN Drama Club: T-shirt money must be turned in to Mrs. Kloss this week. Short-sleeved shirts are $10 and long-sleeved shirts are $15.

ATTN Cast & Crew of Beauty and the Beast: There will be set painting this weekend. All should plan to attend and help out on Saturday from 9-3 and Sunday from 12-4!

Jr. Optimists: The Jr. Optimists will meet this week on Thursday at 2:30 in the TV studio. Plans for the rest of the school year will be discussed. Also, the Jr. Optimists have been invited to attend the regular Optimist meeting on the evening of March 14th at the Highland Country Club. More about that at our meeting. Hope to see you then.
