The ocean was brought to life for second grade students at Highland Primary with the help of Google Expeditions. They went on a virtual reality field trip and were able to learn facts about eight amazing animals, including whales, sharks, and rays. This amazing experience was made possible by the generous donation by the Highland Optimist Club. The donation included a class set of View Masters and a tablet for this 3-D experience. This new technology is very engaging for students and makes learning fun. Second graders are learning about different habitats in reading and about animal biodiversity in science. They will also be able to write personal narratives about their experience. They can not wait to go on their next Google Expedition!
