The Quarter In Review:

The students at Alhambra and Grantfork had a quarter full of great performances! Towards the end of October we began preparations for the Veteran’s Day Assembly. K, 1, 2 sang the patriotic standard You’re A Grand Old Flag. 3rd, 4th, and 5th performed Armed Forces
Medley honoring each branch of our military. It was really special to see all our service members in the audience stand up and be recognized for all they do. The final all school song Thankful for the USA reinforced a steady beat, ensemble, and good singing.
The students got to learn and discuss the Illinois State song as part of our Happy Birthday Illinois celebration. The lyrics were challenging, but the students rose to the challenge and had a successful assembly sing-along.

Preparation for the Christmas concerts consumed most of the quarter. For a lot of our kindergarten students, that was their first performance for such a large audience. Everyone’s hard work paid off and all the concerts were a huge success! Our district has a lot of talented musicians!
