Christy Zeller

My name is Christy Zeller. I grew up in the small town of Mulberry Grove where I attended school from Kindergarten to 12th grade in the same building.

I had always known that I wanted to be a teacher, so after high school I went to McKendree College where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
I married my husband Nic in 2009, and in 2012 we had our son, Braden. We also have two boxers named Frank and Daisy. I love teaching for the Highland School District and can’t imagine being anywhere else. Moving to Grantfork has proven to be a wonderful change and I love being able to spend everyday in the classroom.

Mrs. Heather Luitjohan

Hello,

I am Heather Luitjohan, and am an alumni of both the Center Schools and Highland High School. I received my bachelors degree in Elementary Education from SIUE and my master’s degree from McKendree College. I began my teaching career at Highland Elementary teaching both the fourth and fifth grades before staying home to spend time with my children. I returned to teaching in 2019 just in time to experience teaching in a global pandemic! My husband and I live in Alhambra with our four children, Maddy, Emma, Nolan, and Amelia and two dogs, Autumn and Widow. I love being at Grantfork Elementary and being a part of the Center Schools once again!
