When does online registration open? Online registration is available on April 15, 2024 and will close on May 20, 2024

What are the perks of having a PowerSchool Parent Portal?

  • Register your students 

  • Pay Fees for Registration, Athletics, Activities, and Parking

  • Apply funds to your student(s) meal account(s)

  • Apply for Free/Reduced meal & fee waiver benefits

  • View student(s) class schedule

  • View student(s) grades

How do I start the registration process?  If you are a returning student and have a Powerschool Parent Portal, you may fill out the forms linked to your students account.   If you are a new student or a returning student without a parent portal,  contact the Administrative Center at 618-654-2106

When and how can I register my new student? Call the Administrative Center to request a New Student link.

When will my student receive their class schedule? Class schedules will be posted in your PowerSchool Parent Portal on August 7, 2024.

When will my student find out who their teacher is? Teacher names will be posted in your PowerSchool Parent Portal on August 7, 2024.

When will I be able to see my student’s busing information? Transportation will be available to parents and students on August 7, 2024 through the FirstView App. 

When is the first day of school?  August 13, 2024. 

How can I register online if I do not have a computer or internet access?

Contact the Administrative Center for assistance 618-654-2106, M-F 8am – 4pm

When and where will my student get their picture taken? 

High School and Middle School will be taken at Highland Middle School on:

  • July 18, 2023 from 8:00 am to 1:00pm

  • July 20, 2023 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm 

Highland Elementary and Highland Primary will be taken at the Highland Elementary on:

  • August 4, 2023 from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm

  • August 7, 2023 from 12:00 pm to 7:00 pm 

Alhambra Primary

  • September 12th Fall Pictures

  • March 14th Spring Pictures 

Grantfork Elementary

  • September 12th Fall Pictures

  • March 14th Spring Pictures 

When is my student’s back to school night? 

High School 

  • Freshman Day- August 8, 2023 from 9:30 am until 11:15 am

  • Open House- August 15, 2023 from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm

Middle School

  • 6th Grade- August 14, 2023 from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm

  • 7th and 8th Grade- August 15, 2023 from 5:30 pm until 6:30 pm

Highland Elementary

  • August 14, 2023 from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm

Highland Primary

  • August 14, 2032 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Alhambra Primary

  • August 14, 2032 from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm

Grantfork Elementary

How much are the school fees for the 23/24 school year? See fee schedule 

When will I be invoiced for school fees? Registration fees will be invoiced on August 1st.  Athletic/Activity fees will be invoiced per the fee schedule.

How do I make an online payment for school fees & meals? Payments for school fees and meal payments may be made by logging into your PowerSchool parent portal and clicking on the arrow within the blue bar.  From the app, Click "More" at the bottom of the screen, then "Forms" then the arrow will be located on the top right. This will direct you to www.schoolpaymentportal.com where you may create an account. All meal balances from MySchoolBucks will be rolled over into your new account.

Can I set up a payment plan to pay my registration fees? At this time Highland CUSD #5 is not able to offer automatic payment plans. You may pay in full or make partial payments within your www.schoolpaymentportal.com. 

Do I need to apply for free and reduced meals/fee waiver each year?  Yes you will, unless you have received a pre-qualification notification for the 23/24 school year.
