2022 SEMESTER I FINAL EXAMS-Highland High School- Semester I Exam Policy
All students, grades 9-12, will be required to take an exam for semester I courses. Each quarter accounts for 40% of the final grade and the exam accounts for the other 20% (40-40-20). All students will be required to take the exam during the designated exam period. If a student is absent during the exam period, a medical note or other documentation may be required. Absent students who do not have an excused absence will receive a “zero” on the final exam.

Wednesday, December 21 (Hours 6, 7, Make-Up)
Wednesday, January 4 (Make-Up) Teacher In-Service
Students are able to leave school once ALL FINAL EXAMS are completed each day if they have transportation arranged.
Lunch will be served daily and buses depart at the regular time of 2:35 pm
Students needing to change exam dates must complete a FINAL EXAM CHANGE FORM by Friday, December 2 for approval. These are for emergency situations as vacations should wait until after the school year is completed.

2023 SEMESTER II FINAL EXAMS-Highland High School-Semester II Exam Policy
During semester II, we would like to reward students for their hard work, their good attendance, and their positive character. We have created some guidelines and, if you meet each of these, you have the opportunity to earn exemption from one, two, or maybe even all of your exams. Use this checklist to see if you are exempt:
I have missed six or fewer days of this class period
Each of my absences is excused
I have earned a “C” or higher for each quarter
I have no more than one ISS this semester and no OSS
I have not violated the Academic Integrity policy
* Some classes, such as semester, dual credit, and AP, may require a semester exam.
* If you are exempt from a final, then each quarter will account for 50% of your grade.
