Volunteer Opportunities

Your child has chosen to participate in the musical program. we would love for you to be involved as well! We have a wonderful group of students in the music programs in Highland, and it is a joy to work side by side with them. There are many opportunities to help out. Please let us know if you would like to participate in any of the events listed below!

  • Coordinate and/or assist with fundraisers

  • Serve as liaison between Highland Band Parents and Highland Choral Parents

  • Fit, track, and maintain the choral gowns

  • Construct sets and setup for the Madrigal Dinner

  • Construct and repair the costumes

  • Decorate and takedown props at the Madrigal Dinner

  • Chaperone for Kansas City Renfest trip in September each year

  • Chaperone for Music in the Park in the spring

OUR OBJECTIVES...

  • To support the choral music programs of the Highland Community Schools

  • To encourage the study of vocal music for vocation or avocations

  • To provide a common bond between the choral students, the choral directors, the school, the parents, and the community.

OUR EFFORTS SUPPORT...

Acappella Choir (Chamber & Madrigal Singers), Mixed Chorus, Middle School Chorus, and Jazz Choir.

COMMUNICATIONS:

General HCPA meeting are typically held quarterly. All parents of students participating in music programs within Highland Community School are invited and encouraged to attend. In addition, a quarterly newsletter, "The Choruspondence," is provided electronically to all parents who are registered.
