Greetings, Highland CUSD No. 5 Students, Teachers, and Families,

We are excited to celebrate the graduation of the Class of 2026 on Friday, May 15, at 7:30 PM at the HHS stadium.

Our hope is that the weather will cooperate on Friday night, but if necessary, the ceremony will move to the HHS gym at 7:30 PM. We will move indoors only if severe weather occurs, and official changes will be shared via email, text, and social media with stakeholders as soon as possible. Again, we intend to remain outdoors for the event if at all possible.

For those unable to attend graduation in person, Friday's ceremony will be live-streamed at the following link: https://youtube.com/live/_-TgFQoy_0M?feature=share.

Stadium gates will open at 5:30 PM, and the ceremony will begin promptly at 7:30 PM. We ask all attendees to follow the signs and instructions for the ceremony. Handicap seating will be provided wherever possible in the track area and other locations, but it is limited.

There will be a drop-off line at the front of the stadium for entry, and a golf cart will be available to transport those who need assistance getting to the stadium, including those unable to park close enough or in the handicap spots.

Thank you for your patience, kindness, and understanding during this capstone event for our seniors. We will do our best to accommodate all who attend, as we expect a capacity crowd. It's going to be an amazing night of celebration.

We look forward to seeing you on Friday night at 7:30 PM to celebrate the Class of 2026!

Highland CUSD NO. 5,

This message is specific to Alhambra Primary, but fyi to all district families. Due to the weather, power was lost in Alhambra today and was anticipated to be back on line later this morning. We have now been notified that power will not be restored until late this afternoon. We plan to be in session all day at all schools, but have invited parents to pick up kids at Alhambra Primary IF they prefer. Buses will run on normal schedules this afternoon. We have bottled water and an alternative lunch plan for Alhambra Primary so staff and students will be provided for throughout the day. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation as we deal with less than ideal conditions.

Dear Alhambra Primary Families:
This message ONLY EFFECTS Alhambra Primary School.

We have just received word from Ameren that Alhambra School will be without power until 5:00 pm.
You are welcome to come pick up your child from school.
If you do not come pick up your child, bussing service will run as usual at the typical times.
Lunch will be a "pantry only "style lunch if your child is still here at lunch time.
You may simply come and get your child from the office if you choose to do so (you do not need to call), otherwise we will keep them like a typical school day.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Respectfully,
Susie Kronk, Principal

Hello Alhambra Parents:
Alhambra Primary is experiencing a power outage. I have been in contact with Ameren and they are projecting for the power to come back on between 12 and 12:30. As a result of this, we have no phone service. We have no email.
In the event that you need to reach your child at school, please call the main office 618-654-2106 and press 0 for the operator. She will be able to reach me or one of the building secretaries.
We have a lunch planned for the students. We will proceed with business as usual. Thank you for your understanding.
Respectfully,
Susie Kronk, Principal

The Community Survey on Walking and Biking Trails is now open! The City of Highland is developing a Sidewalks and Trails Master Plan. They want to make our city a more walkable community, and with over 7 miles of bike trails, Highland is home to more city owned bike trails than any other city in the Metro East, and we'd like to know how you think we should expand on this community asset. Please take a moment to complete this survey and share your thoughts and priorities. https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Highland_SidewalksTrails_survey
