Congratulations to Lydia G. for winning first place in the United Nation’s World Water Day Photography Contest! The contest was co-sponsored by National Great Rivers Research and Education Center and Swarovski Waterschool. She is a fifth grader in Mrs. Bartlett’s class.

Skin care packaging: lip balm tubes and caps, soap dispensers and tubes, body wash caps, lotion dispensers and caps.
Hair care packaging: shampoo caps, conditioner caps, hair gel tubes, and caps, hair spray triggers, and hair paste caps.
Cosmetic packaging: lipstick cases, lip gloss tubes, mascara tubes, eye shadow cases, bronzer cases, foundation packaging, powder cases, eyeliner cases, eyeliner pencils, eye shadow tubes, concealer tubes, concealer sticks, and lip liner pencils.
We earn money for our school while saving these from going to landfills. These items can be dropped off in the school office.
Tonight is Mazzio’s Night for our Specialists. Come out and have dinner with us. Dine in or carry out from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
Highland Elementary is collecting these plastic bags for recycling. We earn money for each shipment. By sending any of these wrappers to school, you will be helping our school and our environment. Please note the specific brands. Thank you!


It’s time to clean out your closets again! Highland Elementary is going to be competing in another textile recycling competition during the month of April. Please donate your old clothes, sheets, curtains, etc to the bins at the 4 Diamonds. Please hold on to them until April 1 when the contest begins. We appreciate your help!

Mazzio’s Night fundraiser for grade 3 from 5:00-9:00 tonight! Both dine-in and carry out benefit our third graders. Please come and join us!
Congratulations to Abigaile R for winning first place in girls for the district and Honorable Mention at the state level in the 2020 Optimist Drug Free Poster Contest. She is a fifth grader in Mrs. Spies’s class.


Thank you Eileen Meyer for “zooming” with us for World Read Aloud Day! Ms. Meyer, author of “The Superlative A. Lincoln: Poems About Our 16th President”, spoke with Mrs. Langham’s and Mrs. Cotto’s classes.

A little Cupid Shuffle to end the week!


Students in Ms. Ahlgren’s third grade class used creativity to build structures with toothpicks and marshmallows. They’ve been studying engineering concepts.



Fifth graders in Mrs. Spies’s class and Mrs. Bartlett’s class enjoyed some dancing after lunch today.

We had help with the morning announcements from students in Mrs Minford’s class. They gave a short lesson on Martin Luther King, Jr.

Great job to all of our Spelling Bee participants today! Congratulations to Cole, our 2021 champion and Emma, our runner-up.


Mrs.Ford’s class also donated gloves, mittens and scarves.

Students from Mrs Langham, Mrs. Cotto, Mrs. Becker and Ms. Ahlgren’s classes collected mittens, hats, gloves and scarves for the Indian School Reservation for Kids.
