-We look forward to seeing students back at school on Thursday, February 18 with a BLACK DAY: Hours 3,4,5,8
-Please note a PLC day is scheduled for Thursday and students may leave at 11:22 AM or stay to work on homework, get extra help, or receive tutoring. Buses run at regular time at 12:35 PM and lunches will be available.
-The Blood Drive has been rescheduled for Thursday, March 4th. Mr. Vance will share updates later this month.
-Please be safe traveling to school tomorrow and leave a few minutes if needed in case roads are still slick.

Some roads are still in bad shape and with the temperatures back down in the single digits and the possibility of additional accumulation in the morning, we are going to be extra cautious and cancel school for tomorrow, Wednesday, February 17.
Highland CUSD No. 5 will not be in session tomorrow, Tuesday, February 16 due to inclement weather. Enjoy the snow!

Mr. John Case leading some of the HHS Marching Band in the commons as we prepare for our spring season. We can’t wait to get outside and play!
President Lincoln paid a visit to HHS this morning to celebrate his birthday. Mr. Bradley loves playing the part and celebrating history with his students. He looks fantastic and his stories of Honest Abe are filled with knowledge, humor, and fun.
Mr. Elledge and Driver Ed students discuss driving in the snow and taking safety precautions as new drivers. Thank you parents for practicing with your children at home with the snow on the ground. As we know, students learn by doing. Be safe everyone.

Game change alert - both the boys and girls basketball games vs. Triad will be moved from Tuesday, February 16 to Wednesday, February 17. This change is due to a lack of available officials. Times and locations will remain the same.
Mrs. Case works with English II students as they study Macbeth. Students watch parts of the film, read the text, and discuss a variety of literary elements. Several students respond during the discussion as well.
