Students in Intro to Engineering use a launcher they designed to create data for use in calculating distances. They collected data using X,Y coordinates and calculated the distance from the origin. They checked measurements and calculations and computed the standard deviation.





Students in Mrs. Simmons’ Chemistry class conduct a Flame Test lab last week. They observed salts absorb energy and give off various colors of light. Students finished with a lab report on their findings.




Students in Mrs. Buchtel’s Spanish I course review a variety of vocabulary words to describe themselves, other people and things. They practice saying words aloud, use them in sentences to add context, and explore how words can change in Spanish.

Congratulations to the Varsity Boys Golf Team on their 2nd place finish in the IHSA Regional. The team will be moving on to the Sectional Monday in Effingham. A big congratulations to Dominick Emig for earning Match Medalist after a playoff! Well done! 🖤⛳️❤️



Students in Mr. Hamilton’s PE play Nitro Ball which combines tennis, volleyball, handball, and four square. Lots of competition, body control, fine and gross motor, and overall fitness. Hamilton created a Nitro Ball Tourney that students can sign up to play during Homeroom





Kirk shirts are here! Students can pick up their shirt today during lunch. Community members are welcome to pick up their shirt today from 11:30am-12:30pm in the HHS office or tomorrow from 5pm-7pm in the HHS gym.

Students in Mrs. Perkes’ Photoshop class practice a variety of editing techniques which include photo repair, selection tools, and working with layers. The class is a Dual Credit opportunity with SWIC which allows students to earn college credit while in high school.

Senior parents, Student Council needs your help!


Students in Mrs. Wander-Vrell’s Art I class create morning sketches. The theme is random animals and students are given a unique animal to draw weekly. Species have included snakes, zebras, rabbits, bulldogs, and rhinos. All students are fully engaged in their creations.

Girls Tennis defeated Roxana tonight 6-3. Notable win was Addison Crask winning an over 2 hour singles match at #3 and followed it up with a doubles victory at #2 doubles. Way to go Addison and team! 🖤🎾❤️

Students in Mrs. Geiger’s Industrial Ed II class practice a variety of welds. One student shares he’s creating a butt weld and explains the process of welding two pieces together, cooling, using a tipping hammer, and a wire brush to clean it up. Some great hands on skills.
