Our Marching Bulldogs were outstanding today in the O’Fallon Marching Band Championship! Way to go!





Kalei Gould eyeing up her birdie putt on the par 3 6th at Rolling Hills after hitting the flag on her tee shot. She went on to make the putt.


Girls Tennis won the Highland Doubles Tournament! Augustin/Fleming finished third at 1 doubles. Herman/Crask finished first at 2 doubles. Rinderer/Pollard finished first at 3 doubles. Chalfant/Stehlik finished first at 4 doubles. Bluhm/Thomilson finished first at 5 doubles.


Today we play in the Highland Girls Tennis Invite! It’s been a few years, due to Covid and weather. Good luck ladies!

Highland Golf took 4th place with a 291 at the co-ed challenge. Leading the way for the Bulldogs were Emig/Hunsche with a 69. Also scoring were Knackstedt/Gould 72, Belford/Miles 72, and Oestringer/Burns 78.


Juniors in Mr. Warnecke’s US History class review an assessment from last week and begin a unit on the Industrial Revolution. Students hear about several influential players including Carnegie, Rockefeller, and Vanderbilt. They explore key terms and themes regarding the era.





Seniors in Mrs. Huson’s English IV class annotate a piece of text to identify literary devices.They color code and mark up their papers to find elements such as personification, similes, metaphors, irony, and alliteration just to name a few.Critical thinking skills are in play.





Students in Mr. Welz’s Health class create a public service announcement that promotes healthy behaviors. Students research a topic and are required to present to the class. Possible topics include avoiding texting and driving, pet safety, and violence prevention.

It’s Highland vs Triad! Let’s go Dogs!


Students in Mrs. Simmons’ Chem I class conduct a lab on the properties of elements. They test and analyze conductivity, magnetism, color, reactivity and other properties on various elements. Students then create a data chart to report their findings.





Students in Mrs. Himsel’s AP Composition class complete Dual Credit forms today. This particular course is connected with St. Louis University and allows students to potentially earn college credit while in high school.




Students in Mrs. Miller’s Honors English I class review parts of speech and highlight how prepositions are used when writing. They watch a quick video and practice identifying prepositional phrases in various text pieces.





Varsity goes 2-1 today at the Carbondale tournament losing a heartbreaker to a solid Marion team in the third 14-16.

Bulldog Soccer ⚽️ battled Father McGivney this morning winning 7-1. They continue to improve each game and head into next week with a 4-1 record on the season. Keep it up!
