Mrs. Case’s English II class learns about imagery and annotates text from The Bitter Side of Sweet. They search for examples of similes and metaphors in the book and explain them in their readers notebook. Lots of engagement throughout with student centered learning.

Freshman in Mr. Williams’ English I class review figurative language and talk about narration. They discuss how the narrator grabs the reader’s attention, focuses and describes the story, and identifies a voice. Students fully engage in the discussion and share their thoughts

The Varsity Boys Soccer Team fell to Waterloo 2-1 tonight. They are back in action tomorrow night as they head to Triad for another MVC battle.



Varsity Boys Golf took 2nd on a 5th score at the MVC Tournament. Easton Belford, Mason Emig, Dominick Emig, and Bryce Knackstedt earned all conference honors. Congratulations to Bryce Knackstedt on winning the individual championship on course playoff!

Due to wet field conditions, the JV/V Boys Soccer game against Waterloo has been postponed to Wednesday, September 22. The Freshmen Boys Soccer game originally scheduled against Mascoutah on September 22 has been cancelled.

Congrats to the Lady Bulldog Volleyball team who placed 2nd in the gold division at the Charleston Tournament. The championship came down to the wire with Effingham winning the third set 22-25.

After beating Decatur MacArthur and suffering a tough loss to Effingham this morning, the Lady Bulldogs go on to beat Olney and then knock off top seeded Carbondale. They will play for the Championship coming up soon!🏐🏐🏐🏐
