Josh, a member of the Highland CUSD 5 Facilities Team, works on the intercom system this morning. It’s a fantastic piece of equipment and still works like a champ.

Mr. Miscik teaching AP Calculus from home to his class. Necessity is the mother of invention, and the Pandemic has created necessities we would have never dreamed. Our teachers have invented incredible ways to overcome our obstacles.

What's better than one ugly sweater? Ugly Sweater X 2. Ms. Korte and Mr. Elledge twinning in their matching ugly sweaters. It's "breathtaking".

Students in Mrs. Ramsey’s Biology class seeing their teacher as she livestreams from home this morning. Learning carries on during the pandemic thanks to our innovative students and staff.

It’s spirit week! Tomorrow we are “MAD ABOUT PLAID” so break out your plaid and flannel so you can grab a treat and help your class win some competitions!

One of our students, Paul, was waiting in the office before heading home today. While waiting, he was able to follow along on Google Meets with his Geometry teacher, Mr. Joel Hawkins, who was teaching in-person and live-streaming to remote learners. Pretty fantastic.
Hawkins, who starting teaching at Highland in 1985, probably never dreamed he would instruct this way. In ‘85, he was likely using an overhead projector and chalk.
Our teachers and students continue to adapt during the pandemic in many ways and we are so proud of them.
Although it’s not been perfect during the pandemic and we continue to face challenges, our teachers, students, school, and community continue to step up.

Students in Mrs. Geiger’s Industrial Ed II class displaying their Christmas Tree Woodworking Projects. Some top notch skills created beautiful pieces that are displayed in the HHS Commons.

Students in Ms. Williams English I class do a variety of activities this morning as they read a piece of text, conduct a quick write, and move towards a final draft related to a recent class novel.
