We’re excited to celebrate a double achievement! Our very own retired math teacher from May 2023, Mr. Max Uhls, has fulfilled his dream of writing and publishing his first novel, Time and Time Again, A Swade Hammond Novel. Fans of time travel and coming-of-age stories will be captivated by this thrilling tale.
Additionally, we’re proud to celebrate juniors Maddie Molitor and Layna Powers, who contributed their creativity and Photoshop skills to the book’s design. Maddie designed the paperback cover, while Layna designed the hardcover. They did an amazing job! Congratulations to all on such an incredible achievement!

Highland had 14 entries into the SIUE regional art exhibit. Myla Wheat with Divine Feminine, Sophia Frey with Lunar Moon, and Aislyn Welsh with Divine Intervention and Head of a Peasant Woman. Sophia won The Art Education award, and Aislyn won 3rd for Head of a Peasant Women.
Reminder: Students are allowed a total of THREE college/career days to be used in junior and senior years. You MUST complete both parts of the College/Career Day Form to clear these days. Forms are available in the school counseling office. Parent call ins will be counted as an excused absence toward the total for final exams.

We are so proud of our HHS Students who participate in the Gateway CEO program. This morning they had their Fish Tank event- a pitch competition at The Korte Company. Great work by all students!
Thank you to St. Joseph's Hospital for hosting Anatomy and Physiology students for a healthcare day. Students spoke with medical professionals and learned about career options. In addition, students explored the medevac helicopter. This was a wonderful opportunity!🩺🩻🚁💜
