That’s a Sectional win for the Lady Bulldogs! Highland defeated Mt. Vernon 66-30 tonight. The Sectional final will be on Thursday at 7pm in Effingham.



At the half, Highland leads Mt. Vernon 42-11.


At the end of the first quarter, Highland leads Mt. Vernon 23-6.

Saturday, February 22, 2020 at the ICTM Regional Math Competition at SIU-E the Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2
Teams each placed second.
The Algebra 1 Team members were freshmen Jessica Chen, Brooklynn Lackey, Mazzy Robertson, Isabelle Sandberg, Elena Schrof, and Austin Werner. The Geometry team included sophomore Summer Carroll and freshman Emily Jansen.
The Algebra 2 Team included juniors Abby Bowers, Grant Brinker, Sylvie Carroll, David Forys, and Eli Jones.
Tying for first in the Two-Person Fresh/Soph competition were Jessica Chen and Summer Carroll, which advances them to the State competition. Additional State qualifiers were freshman Elena Schrof for tying for third place individually on the Algebra 1 Written test and sophomore Summer Carroll for placing first individually on the Geometry Written test. The State Competition will be held at the University of Illinois on May 2.


Boys track and field started their competitive season today. Top performances today included Easton Rosen who won the 1600 and Connor Sands who took 2nd in both the long jump and triple jump. Congratulations on a great start!

The sportsmanship displayed in bowling is outstanding. Congratulations to all of the bowlers representing Highland and our area! Congratulations on a fantastic weekend.
