After 3 quarters, Highland still leads Centralia by 4, 31-27

Highland girls lead Centralia at the half 19-15 in a very well played 1st half.

Highland Varsity Girls lead Centralia 13-11 after one quarter of play at Centralia.

Students from Highland High School participated at Mckendree University's Model United Nations. They represented the countries of: Belarus, Bosnia, Iran, Mozambique, and Poland. They were members of the Security Council, World Health Organization, 1st Disarmament, 6th Legal, Economic/Social, Science and Technology, Human Rights Council, and General Assembly.

225 Highland Bulldogs were lucky today 🍀! Crystal Krause & Ashley Rensing from Scott Credit Union presented the “CU 4 Reality Fair.”
Students were challenged to create a budget while choosing living accommodations, transportation, groceries, cellphone plans & temptations like salon services & gym memberships.
If students couldn’t meet their budget from their chosen careers they had part time job positions to choose from. What a FANTASTIC learning opportunity for HHS students!!

Students interested in learning more about a career in healthcare: please consider joining the St. Joe's Health Care Exploring Program. The kickoff meeting is Dec. 6th at 6pm at St. Joe's Hospital Highland. See your school counselors or school nurse for an application or additional info.

Good luck to our Highland Bulldogs as they take on Providence Catholic at 3:00 PM in a 5A quarterfinal matchup.

This week the HHS School Counselors attended the ISCA State Conference. They presented a session on advocacy, networked and attended multiple sessions. Mrs. Amber Spaeth serves as operations director for ISCA and ran the whole conference. She did an incredible job as over 600 counselors were in attendance.

Highland High School: 2023 National Honor Society Induction
On October 25, 2023, the Highland chapter of the National Honor Society inducted 63 new members. Our keynote speaker, Mrs. Mary Jackson, is a long-time member of the HCUSD 5 staff, and was chosen by the executive board of the NHS because students value her knowledge and motivation.
Members must be juniors or seniors, must have a G.P.A of at least 4.75 on the 5.0 scale, must be active at school and in the community, and must show a commitment to serving others. In all, there are about 100 members in the chapter.
To continue their membership, students must exhibit good character and must maintain a GPA of 4.75. Students also complete a minimum number of service hours each school year, which includes volunteering for the Special Olympics and with the HACSM food pantry.
