The Essenpreis family has requested that students and staff line the roadway to honor Kirk as the funeral procession passes by HHS on Wednesday morning.
The funeral procession will pass by the high school on Rt. 160 Wednesday morning at 9:30 AM on its way to Grantfork. Students and staff will begin the line up around 9:15 AM on Wednesday. Please continue to pray for the Essenpreis family during this difficult time.

Seventeen students represented Highland at the 50th Annual Excellence in Math Competition on Saturday at the St. Louis Community College in Forest Park. The freshman team of Ben Kunz, Luke Schwarz, and Rick Wang placed 2nd. The sophomore team of Will Jansen, Ellie Kampwerth, Luke Stone, and Kylee Sowers placed 3rd. The Junior team of Tim Comish, Naomi Saathoff, Madison Stehlik, and CeCe Beckemeyer placed 1st. The senior team of Gabe Schwarz and Joe Jansen placed 3rd. Individually in the freshman division Luke Schwarz placed 2nd, Ben Kunz was 7th and Rick Wang was 8th. Individually in the sophomore division Kylee Sowers placed 7th, Will Jansen was 8th, and Ellie Kampwerth was 9th. In the junior division Tim Comish placed first bringing home a brand new TI-Nspire CX II as part of his award! In the junior division Naomi Saathoff placed 2nd, CeCe Beckemeyer placed 8th, and Madison Stehlik placed 9th. Placing individually in the senior division were Gabe Schwarz placing 5th and Joe Jansen placing 7th.

Grief and loss are never easy, and we are heartbroken. But, we are strong and our ability to pull together to support students, faculty, and staff says so much about our school family. The element of human connection is powerful and unstoppable, and that was on full display at our school today.

Your Highland Bulldogs will host the Mascoutah Indians on Saturday, November 5 at 2pm. Tickets are $6 and will be on sale at the HHS office on Friday between 11:15-12:45! Saturday is a RED out so get our your best Bulldog apparel and get to the stadium!
