HMS Fall Sports Tryout information: Registration is open for cross country and dance. All students must be registered on the HMS Athletic Site and have a current physical (within the past 13 months) before attending tryouts. First cross country practice is Monday, August 22 and the first dance clinic is September 1 & 2nd with the official tryout on September 6.

In Science class, Team 7 Red students created displays of their choice to demonstrate the tools that scientists use. Students chose from dioramas, electronic slide shows, poster displays, and models, among other options.





6th grade students tested the speed of mealworms on different surface types today!

Go luck to the Lady Bulldogs 8th grade softball team as they play in the Jerseyville Cluster at Jersey HS. The ladies play Jersey at 9am on the Varsity Field, Carrollton St. John's at 11am on the JV Field and play at 1pm vs. Waterloo on the JV Field. Go Dawgs!

Each week, Highland Middle School recognizes several students for going above and beyond to show PRIDE. These students were nominated by teachers for a variety of reasons including showing kindness towards others, having integrity, and volunteering. Keep up the great work!!!

Students in Mr. Gindler’s music class listen to and discuss a piece of Cuban music played by musicians around the world. They also discussed different musical vocabulary today in class.



Mr. Frey and Mrs. Cummings are always looking for great ways to engage their 6th Graders! Today, students worked in groups to solve puzzles, complete activities, and earn rewards with a focus on introducing History.
