Congratulations to Lucy Becker who won the Jim Burnes Leadership Award for Region 7 member schools of SIJHSAA. This is a special award and Lucy will be honored at banquet on May 13 at the Rend Lake Golf Course. Way to go! HMS is proud of you and your accomplishments! Go Dawgs!


Congratulations to some of our 6th grade boys who participated in a Middle School State Championship held in Champaign. They came away with the Championship for 6th grade level teams. Great job by the boys! Go Dawgs! The future looks bright!

HMS lost and found is overflowing with coats, shorts, hoodies, water bottles, gym bags and shoes. Please check out the photos to see if any of the items belong to your students. All items that are not claimed by April 13th will be donated.





HMS teachers started our institute day by doing a Highland Middle School timeline activity which lead to several great discussions!!! We also spent our morning vertically collaborating with the 5th grade teachers from Highland Elementary and Grantfork Elementary!


8th graders celebrated Pi Day on March 14th with several pi related activities. Each class had the chance to enter an option Pi Reciting contest for a chance to win some pie!!

Today's optional Track and Field practice has been canceled.

Congratulations to all of our HHS and HMS participants in the annual Optimist Oratorical Contest held at HMS tonight. Everyone did an amazing job. A special congratulations to 3rd place, Addyson Goodwin, 2nd place Brode Lewis, and 1st place Julia English. Julia will go on to compete at the next level. What a fun night!

HMS volleyball defeats Centralia in the first round of regionals tonight. Championship game against Salem starts at 7:00. Come join our fans as we cheer on our team!





Good luck to our Lady Bulldogs who compete in the volleyball regional hosted by HMS today! They play at 6pm in the semi-final vs. Centralia. The winner will play in the championship following their game at 7pm approximately! Best of luck! Go Dawgs!
