HMS Recipe Book -- HMS is excited to bring a new opportunity to our HMS Family. Our plan is to create a HMS Recipe Book, with recipes from our HMS Faculty and Staff, along with our HMS Family -- our students and their family members and friends. The process to submit recipes is online and very simple to do. If you are interested in helping us create a great recipe book, please follow the information at the bottom of this email. We truly appreciate all you help in this endeavor. If all goes well, we will have them up for sale in October, with delivery of the books right before Christmas. There will be a separate email with order forms attached. Thank you for all your help and support, and we looking forward to creating our HMS Recipe Book with all of you. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Kateri Odle at kodle@highlandcusd5.org Some details: *We would like to have all recipes submitted by September 30th. Here is the link you click on to start typing in your recipes: http://www.typensave.com/get-started/ User Name: HMS Cookbook Committee Password: HMS

We are needing parent volunteers for the night of the Homecoming Parade, Sept. 25th, to monitor the parade. You will be designated to certain streets to make sure that the parade is flowing safely, kids are not jumping around on floats, throwing objects very hard into the crowd, etc. You can contact Monica Rensing at 618-781-7809 or monicarensing@yahoo.com. If you have any questions please let her know. Thank You!

HMS Parents, We are approximately halfway through 1st quarter. You may view your child’s 1st quarter midterm grades after 3:00 pm on Tuesday, September 17, 2019, by accessing their grades through PowerSchool. We will no longer send individual midterms and quarterly report cards home through email as PowerSchool allows parents and students to gain immediate access to grades. Throughout the year, reminder messages will be emailed home alerting parents when midterm and quarter grades will be available to view. Please go to the following link to obtain your child’s midterm grades: https://ps.highlandcusd5.org/public/ If you are having trouble accessing PowerSchool, please call the HMS office at 651-8800 with questions or concerns. Thanks so much, Liz Weder Principal
