Congratulations to Katie Fenton-IESA Scholar Attitude Award Winner for Division O
The Illinois Elementary School Association (IESA) is pleased to announce the 2025 Scholar Attitude Award winners. A panel of judges consisting of coaches, athletic directors, principals, and officials, reviewed the applications and selected fifteen students representing 15 different division groups. To be considered, a student from an IESA member school must be of 8th grade status, have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, have participated in at least one IESA activity during each year of their two-year junior high career, and has demonstrated outstanding citizenship during their junior high tenure. In addition, each student is required to submit an essay titled "The Value of Sportsmanship and the Lessons I have Learned from Participating in Athletics and Activities"
The fifteen award winners will receive a medallion and a $250 gift card. In addition, they will be recognized at the IESA Celebration of Excellence on April 29th. Katie Fenton of Highland Middle School is the winner for Division O and the first HMS Athlete to receive this honor.
Voegele Studio will be here next Tuesday morning, March 18, to take optional spring pictures. We have attached a flier for reference. Please have your student dress accordingly if you would like them to be photographed.

Good luck to the 8th grade girls volleyball team as they play Triad in the semi final of the Regional at 4:30 pm. The game is at Triad MS.

Happy March birthday to students from team 6 Black ! 🥳
The Bulldogs had a great day at the lanes at Hi Top against their rival Triad. The varsity girls, jv girls and jv boys all won 5-0 while the varsity boys won 3 of 5. Eily Duncan bowled a 196 and had a turkey as a highlight for the day. The varsity boys and girls both finish the regular season with 5-4 records. The jv boys finish 7-2 while the jv girls finish undefeated with a 9-0 record. Way to go!
