
Team 7 Black students spent the day reading and discussing their quarter 1 book picks with their IRP novel groups.





The cross country teams held their annual Highland Invitational Thursday, September 28th with a total of "31" teams competing at Highland High School. The HMS invite is one the biggest held around the state and provides local teams with some high quality competition before the state Regional and Sectional meets that occur the first week of October. On the girls side of the invite was won by Triad while the Lady Bulldogs team had a solid day finishing in 7th place. Leading the way for the ladies was Katie Fenton who finished in third place with a time of 11:33.50 minutes, Morgan Greenwald finished in 13th place with a time of 12:13.50 minutes and Josie Kircher finished in 16th place with a time of 12:20.60 minutes. On the boys side Edwardsville Liberty came away with a first place finish while the Bulldogs finished with a respectable 7th place finish. Leading the way for the Bulldogs was Caleb Knobloch with a time of third place finish and a time of 10:03.50 minutes and Joshua Knobloch finishing a solid 19th place with a time of 10:56.80 minutes.

Today after the Highland Cross Country Invite we recognized our 8th grade cross country team members.







The Lady Bulldogs basketball teams came away with some big wins at Edwardsville Liberty today. The 7th grade came away with a 27-11 while the 8th grade won 52-29. Both teams raise their record to 2-0 on the season. Great job ladies!

Team 8 Black awarded some Lotto Bucks at team breakfast this week and celebrated our September Birthdays!!



The Lady Bulldogs open up their season with a 20-12 win over Bethalto in the 7th grade contest. In the 8th grade contest the Lady Bulldogs cruised to a 40-14 win. Way to open up the season strong. Go Dawgs!

WASHINGTON, DC TRIP GOERS:
There will be a mandatory meeting for students and at least one parent/guardian on Monday, Oct. 2 at 6:30pm in the HMS Plaza. If you are an adult traveling with us please plan to attend a short parent meeting at 6:20pm in the Media Center. This meeting is extremely important and will cover all pertinent information regarding the trip. You will also be able to purchase the panoramic group photo at the capitol for $20, but orders can be taken until we leave for the trip as well. Cash or check only. See you then! Questions?
