Today, Mrs. Bartlett's and Mrs. Spies's classes had a Pi Day celebration! First, they learned about all of the parts of a circle. Next, they measured the circumference and diameter of all sizes of circles. Using these measurements, students were able to discover the number for Pi. They also read the book, Sir Cumference and the Dragon of Pi. As they enjoyed a slice of pie for dessert, they listened to a music video about their day.

The fourth graders had lots of fun on their Skate City field trip! They took apart a skate and learned how all the parts work. They also learned how friction affects the way they skate. They finished the day with skating and lunch.
