@ChaseKnebel one hit Civic Memorial in a 5 inning, 10-0 conference win today in Bethalto. @GarrinStone led the Bulldogs with 3 hits and 5 RBIs. @braxdon_d added 3 hits and 3 RBIs and @OttensmeierJake had a hit and 2 RBIs in the victory. Highland moves to 21-1-1.
The Highland Girls Soccer team defeated Southwestern in a Varsity matchup last night with a final score of 7-0. This brings their record to 9-8. Goals came from Frey (2), Gurley (1), Roach (2), Schlarmann (1), and Molitor (1). These goals were assisted by Frey, Carver, and Molitor. Sophia Fleming made her debut appearance as a striker this season, while Sydney Coziar took on keeper responsibilities.
Lady Bulldog Softball fell to Triad 4-1 on Tuesday in an MVC contest. Kaitlyn Wilson pitched 7 innings for Highland giving up 4 in the first on only 1 earned run. She had 7Ks and walked 3 on the night.
Wilson and Lucy Becker each had two hits on the day and Anna Fey had an RBI single. Alex Shultz, Madi Hunter, and Hailey Ritz all had singles with Ritz stealing 2 bases.
Highland is now 10-8 on the year and travels to Waterloo for an MVC game on Wednesday at 4:30 PM.
Congratulations to HHS seniors Sophia Himsel and Tim Comish, who were honored today at the Illinois Principals Association Student Recognition Breakfast for their outstanding efforts at HHS. Himsel will attend the University of Wisconsin, and Comish will attend Mizzou.
