Description: School Nurse in a 900+ student high school
Applicant must be willing to:
-Serve as a liaison and resource to the students, faculty and community on health related issues.
-Implement the health regulations, policies and procedures of the school district, Department of public Health and Department of Education.
-Review student immunization records prior to admission to school.
-Review sports physicals of athletes.
-Develop and implement individual nursing care plans for students.
-Excuse pupils from required physical education classes with medical or parental permission.
-Prepare a confidential list of students with medical concerns at the beginning of each academic year and updates it as needed and shares this with appropriate school personnel.
-Administer prescribed medication to students according to policy
-Perform skilled nursing procedures in a safe, competent and effective manner.
-Participate in and presents findings, nursing guide lines and recommendations at team meetings.
-Instruct students in healthy lifestyles and first aid.
-Provide resources to students, family and faculty for school safety and environmental health issues.
-Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
-Contribute to and support curriculum development and school improvement initiatives.
-Cooperate with teachers of all departments to support a collaborative school culture.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (preferred) and licensed as a registered nurse in Illinois; Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with School Nurse endorsement (preferred)

Today, members of the Principals Advisory Committee (PAC) helped around the HHS campus cleaning up the grounds and planting flowers as part of a service project. They also traveled to other Highland CUSD 5 schools across the district to complete similar tasks.

JV softball was defeated by Mascoutah 12-5. JV Bulldogs racked up 9 hits in the game. Bircher and Nikonovich each managed 2 hits to lead JV. Hunter led Highland with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with six stolen bases.

Varsity softball defeated Mascoutah 8-4 tonight. Grohmann, Dant & Abby Schultz led the offense with 2 hits a piece. Maci Miles had a hit and 2 RBI & a BB.


It's the first week of MVC contests for baseball and softball! Come out to cheer these teams on as we begin conference play! 🐾❤️🐾

Congratulations to the Girls Track and Field Team who placed 2nd at Jersey Relays tonight! The girls took 1st place in distance medley, shot put, discus, pole vault, 4x800, 4x200, and 4x1600! Congratulations! ❤️🐾❤️




The Lady Bulldogs Varsity Soccer Team defeated Jerseyville 5-2 tonight earning their first MVC win of the season. Congratulations! 🐾❤️🐾
