For Students,

Valentine's Day is quickly approaching and the HMS Student Council has a wonderful opportunity for you to do something for that special someone -- purchase a candy gram. Candy grams will be sold Tuesday, February 3rd - Friday, February 6th. Students may purchase candy grams for $1.50 during their lunch hours. Your valentine will receive a full-size candy bar and a special handwritten message from you on Thursday, February 12th. Happy Valentine's Day!!

For Parents/Guardians,

We have lots of parents/guardians asking about whether or not they can purchase candy grams for their children, their children's friends, teachers, etc. . . . the answer is yes you can. If you would like to purchase a candy gram, please fill out this form -- https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf2-Y5QGvqz5MXESnl2tlLr8cdml5H8UkRiIqWANrRj2GGPQw/viewform. Please have your student turn the money in for candy grams in an envelope to the office. We can only accept cash or checks, made payable to HMS. They will need to give it to either Kateri Odle or Tricia Stoddard by Friday, February 6th. Very important -- please make sure you put on the outside or inside of the envelope who the candy gram is for and who is giving it or we will not be able to credit the appropriate person. Each candy gram is $1.50 for a full-size candy bar. We don't anticipate any issues, but candy may have to be substituted if supplies are low. We will try our best to get the candy you have chosen.

If you have any questions, please contact me at dhubbard@highlandcusd5.org.

Thanks,

Dawn Hubbard and Mecala Scholl

The 8th grade Bulldog basketball team loses a heartbreaker to Triad in the IESA Regional Championship at Alton. The Bulldogs fight back from a big deficit and tie with three free throws from Drake Donaldson with two seconds left in regulation. The Bulldogs would fight valiantly and lose in double overtime 42-40. Donaldson had 27 points, Easton Koeneman had 8 points, Delaney Davis added three points and Pierce Decker and Chase Herderhosrt with one point each. The Bulldogs end the season with a 20-7 overall record. Congratulations to the team on a great season and to Coach Elledge for all his years of service to the Bulldog program. Congratulations to Delaney Davis for being honored with the IESA Sportsmanship Pin after the hard fought contest. Thank you to the HMS cheer team for showing up and help support the boys.
