Highland Show Choir "Dissonance" recieved 2nd place in their division at Saturday's showcase of Excellence competition in Quincy, IL along with Mikayla Smith getting outstanding soloist in our caption. Several students participated in the solo competition as well with Hollyn Diamond recieving 4th, Mikayla Smith 2nd, and Daniel Williams in 1st place. Daniel was also awarded a scholarship for a future show choir camp as well. They have had a fantastic season and we look forward to next year! Way to go!





MATH TEAM ICTM REGIONAL RESULTS: On Saturday, Feb. 26 twenty students represented Highland at the ICTM Regional Math Competition.
The following students placed individually and qualified for State:
On the Algebra Written test Braden Schrof (9) placed first and Kylee Sowers (9) and Lexi Fogg (9) tied for second. On the Geometry Written test Naomi Saathoff (10) placed second. On the Algebra 2 Written test Gabe Schwarz (11) placed third. The Algebra 1 Team (Braden Schrof, Lexi Fogg, Kylee Sowers, Will Jansen, Liam Kobbeman, and Luke Stone) placed first. The Geometry Team (Naomi Saathoff (10), Tim Comish (10), Meredith Habing (9), Thomas Mitchell (9), Ella Manier (9), and Brionna Kelly (9)) placed first. The Calculator Team (Summer Carroll (12), Gabe Schwarz (11), Joe Jansen (11), Tim Comish (10), and Braden Schrof (9)) also placed first.
Everyone listed above qualified for the State ICTM Competition scheduled for April 30th!

Students celebrated the Spring Fling Dance on Friday with an amazing performance from Shotgun Creek. The band jammed from for three hours straight to the delight of the crowd. Thanks to Student Council and Excel for sponsoring the event.
