
Kaitlyn Wilson struck out 13 as the right-hander led Highland past Mater Dei 7-1. Wilson surrendered only three hits and one run over seven innings in another dominant performance.
Down 1-0, Highland scored five runs in the fourth as Holly Sexton doubled 2 RBI, Elaina Tompkins singled RBI, and Alex Schultz singled RBI.
Highland totals-Alex Schultz 3 hits, Lucy Becker 2 hits, Abby Shultz 2B, Anna Fey 1B, Jordan Bircher 2B and 2 RBIs. Gracie Nikonovich BB and run scored on Hailey Ritz SAC fly.
Highland is 9-6 and travels to Civic Memorial Monday at 4:30 PM.

The Collinsville Triad Maryville and Highland CEO program is hosting their annual trade show on April 28th. The event will take place from 12:00-3:00 pm at Old Herald Brewery in Collinsville, IL. Highland has six students participating: Reece Bellm, Megan Helm, Blase Kurwicki, Kylie Lawhorn, Jacob Lewis, and Jack Meyer.


Lady Bulldog Softball scored six runs in the fourth inning and defeated Triad 7-0. Hailey Ritz doubled, scoring two runs, Holly Sexton doubled, scoring one run, Alex Schultz doubled, scoring one run, Jordan Bircher doubled, scoring one run, and Abby Schultz singled, scoring one run. Ritz cracked a solo home run to center field in the 6th. Anna Fey and Kaitlyn Wilson had two hits and Madison Hunter singled. Wilson earned the shutout win striking out eight and walking one. This is a reminder that there is a PLC early dismissal on Wednesday, April 17, and HHS students will be dismissed at 1:30 PM. Students who must stay after school for extracurriculars or athletics should wait in the Commons until practices begin.

Highland Girls Soccer defeated Waterloo in double overtime and penalty kicks. The tie goal came from a flying header from Payton Frey. Sophia Fleming made 27 saves and two saves during penalty kicks. This brings their record to 8-4.

The Lady Bulldogs came from behind and knocked off Waterloo tonight behind Kaitlyn Wilson's 7 inning 14 K performance and Abby Shultz's 3-run blast to left field in the bottom of 6. Wilson closed it out in the 7th for a 3-1 victory
The Bulldogs smacked 5 hits on the day with Alex Schultz, Abby Schultz, Hailey Ritz, Kaitlyn Wilson, and Lucy Becker reaching safely. Highland is 7-6 and 3-0 in the MVC and travel to Triad on Wednesday for a 4:30 game.

The Highland Girls Soccer team defeated Breese Central on Saturday, bringing their record to 7-4. Goals came from Peyton Beard and Mady Roach. Assists came from Madison Emig and Maddie Molitor.


Home Game Monday


The Bulldogs pounded out 13 hits and 11 runs to beat Marion 11-5 in game two on Saturday. Alex Howard struck out 6 in four innings of work on the mound. @GarrinStone stayed hot with 4 hits and 3 RBIs, @ChaseKnebel with 2 hits and 2 RBIs and @TreyKoishor with 2 hits and 1 RBI.


@GarrinStone had three hits and his first varsity home run today to lead the Bulldogs to an 8-3 win in game one of a twin billing against Marion. Highland scored 5 runs in the 9th inning to secure the extra inning win. @ChaseKnebel added 3 hits and 2 RBIs in the game.
