HHS Dissonance Show Choir and Show Choir band did a fabulous job yesterday at their competition in Quincy, IL. They received 4th place in their division. Great job to all!

HHS bowling athletes and their coach, Laura Wander-Vrell, were honored at the Southern Illinois Bowling Conference banquet last night. Garrett Pryor received the "High Game" award, Amara Vrell received the "High Series" award, and Leanora Nicklin received three awards: "High Average," "High Series," and "High Game." Congratulations on your fantastic seasons, and congratulations to Laura Wander-Vrell on her Hall of Fame induction!





Congrats to our very talented choir and band students, as well as their directors, Mr. Case, Mr. Polett, Mrs. Wesselmann, and Mr. Wilton, on a fantastic Pops Concert. And good luck to our show choir and winter percussion members at their competitions this weekend!


Our HHS art students had an outstanding showing at the Schmidt Art Center High School Exhibition at SWIC. Senior Audrey Loyet received the "Otten Award" and senior Abbigail Peters received the "Excellence in 3-D" award. Congratulations to the students and to their instructor, Laura Wander-Vrell!



Congratulations to our HHS Model UN students who had a fantastic showing at McKendree University's Spring Conference. Several students received awards for their performance. Naomi Saathoff received an Outstanding Delegate award, Finnegan Stever received a Superior Delegate award, and Anthony Knebel, Tyler Rottmann, and Emma Blaine received Honorable Mentions for their work as delegates. Emma Blaine also received an Honorable Mention for her resolution. Way to go HHS Model UN!

We will be hosting a STARR Mini College Fair during all lunch periods on March 13th. Please use this time to visit tables and get information from the college representatives about admission requirements, scholarship opportunities, housing, and financial aid.


Congrats to the HHS Scholar Bowl Team who completed their season last night with regional play in O'Fallon. Both JV and Varsity squads had a solid year under the direction of coaches Amy Cope and Chris Durbin.


A huge congratulations to our National Honor Society students and their advisor, Ms. Chelsea Williams. NHS raised over $8000 for the Special Olympics through the annual Polar Plunge. What a great way to support our community!

Seniors Abby Schultz and Jake Ottensmeier and AD Clint Hamilton spoke to Highland Primary students last week about fairness as part of the VIP Principles. Shultz is a three sport athlete in volleyball, basketball, and softball and Ottensmeier plays basketball and baseball.

Thank you to members of the Business Education Alliance (BEA) for speaking with our senior students today at HHS. Seniors took part in four sessions on the following topics: managing finances, the importance of the Chamber of Commerce to the community, how to make decisions on your future, and the importance of civic involvement.
