The 7th grade boys basketball tournament scheduled for Tuesday will still be played and the girls volleyball match at OFallon Carriel will still be played.

Due to the string of extremely cold days, Highland CUSD No. 5 will not be in session tomorrow, Tuesday, January 16, 2024. We do expect school to be in session the rest of the week. Please consider the continued cold temperatures and be sure students dress appropriately for extreme conditions Wednesday through Friday. Thank you.

The IESA 7th grade Boys Basketball Regional came out today. Highland MS is the #1 seed! Go Dawgs!

The boys basketball teams traveled to Carlyle tonight for a non-conference match up and came away with two wins. The 7th grade won 46-26 while the 8th grade held on for a 55-46 win. Phoenix Parker sealed the win by making 5 of 6 free throws late. Way to go!

January birthdays from team 6 Black! Happy Birthday!

Today Team 8 Black's Character Strong lesson included setting attainable goals for the next month. Then, just like we want to launch our goals, we built and launched paper airplanes with the goals written on them. Kids picked up a different airplane and discussed a partner.

Registration is now open for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders for Track and Field. Registration for Soccer is open for all 7th and 8th graders. Golf is open to 7th and 8th graders who are established golfers.

The HMS cheer and dance teams competed in competitions this last weekend having successful days. The HMS cheer team finished 5th in the ICCA State Finals held in Springfield. The HMS dance team had an awesome lyrical routine and finished with the best score of the day to finish in first pace at the Edwardsville Invitational. In the Pom competition the team finished a solid third. Way to go!
