Highland CUSD No. 5 Parents and Staff, I am sure you are watching the weather just as I am. I want to convey that our plan is to finish out the school day on regular schedule. It looks like the rain will turn to a mix at some point this afternoon, but the exact timing is a concern. If you wish to pick your child up early, please let the office of the school where they attend know as soon as possible. The buses are expected to be on regular schedule, but may be delayed if conditions worsen. Highland High School will stagger students at dismissal to relieve some traffic issues out of the parking lots. This stagger at HHS will begin a little early so that all kids can exit the parking lot safely. Thank you and please be safe this afternoon!

Highland CUSD No. 5 Parents and Staff, I am sure this is going to be a shocker, No School Tomorrow! We plan to be back in business on Monday. We will be planning to reschedule the ½ day early release for students for April 1 due to planned trainings for our staff. I will be in touch on that at a later date. Have a great weekend!

Highland CUSD No. 5 Parents and Staff, Highland CUSD No. 5 will not be in session tomorrow, Thursday, February 3 due to inclement weather. The forecast does not look good heading into tomorrow so announcements for Friday will likely come early in the afternoon tomorrow. Enjoy the ice and snow!

Highland CUSD No. 5 Parents and Staff, I have been waiting for the forecasts to change throughout the day, but it appears a very consistent message is that rain will change to ice and/or heavy accumulations of snow early tomorrow morning. Rather than wait for the change to occur, we are canceling school tomorrow, Wednesday, February 2nd. If projections hold true, likelihood of becoming clear on Thursday is low. I plan to release additional updates tomorrow including whether school will be in session on Thursday and/or Friday. I hope the snow provides some good sledding opportunities, stay safe and enjoy the day off!
